Step-by-step instructions

Follow the steps below to create the above question in Problem-Attic.

1. Go to the Arrange tab and click Write New Problem.

2. In the editor, type the question and press Enter to start a new line.

   

3. In the editor toolbar, click Table.

4. In the Layout tab, enter in the number of rows you want and set the columns to 2. At the bottom of the dialog box, click OK to insert the table into the problem.

   

5. In the newly created table, fill in the left column with the descriptions to match the dropdown menus items to. Fill in the right column with the answers that will make up the menus.

   

6. Right-click the table and select Table Properties from the pop-up menu. In the Interactive tab, select Column Match from the menu. Under Matching Style, choose Menus.

   

7. Fill in the Answer field with the correct sequence of letters. Each letter represents the correct answer for the matched description. In this example there are 6 individual letters for the 6 descriptions. Each of the descriptions will be matched by one of the answers, denoted by A, B and C.

   Problem-Attic will compile the Column Match table column by column, so there’s no need to worry about the empty cells in the second column.

8. Click OK at the bottom of the dialog box to make the table interactive.

9. In the editor, click Online Test Preview to see how the column match question will look and behave in an online test. If you are satisfied, close the Preview, then click Save.
