Notes

National Science Bowl was created in 1991 by the U.S. The Department of Energy to encourage students to excel in science and math as well as inspire the pursuit of STEM related careers.

The competition tasks teams to answer fast-paced questions on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math. The questions are formatted in a quiz-bowl fashion consisting of Toss-up and Bonus questions. For ease of reference, the headers that distinguish between Toss-up and Bonus questions appear in the question thumnbnails when browsing the bank, but they are be ommitted once the question is added to a document.

The original library of sample questions are freely available on the Deparment of Energy's website. It should be noted that the sample questions released by the Department of Energy cover up through 2019. The bank will be updated if more sample questions get released. Please visit science.osti.gov for more information.
