Four of the states are in a consortium called New England Common Assessment Program. Their items are indexed using the abbreviation NECAP. The questions come from approximately 1,500 source documents, including released tests, curriculum frameworks, and teacher handbooks. These span more than two decades of work on standards-based assessment and instruction. Each source document is presented in its entirety.
