Notes

ELMACON was started in 1999, organized by the Pacific Institute of Mathematical Sciences (PIMS), to give students from grades 5 to 7 a chance to compete in a challenging and fun mathematics contest. Students compete in separate divsions based on their grade. In each division there are three "rounds": Sprint and Target (which are both written) and Countdown (a verbal one-on-one competition).

Similar to the PIMS supported MathCounts competition, ELMACON shares a similar structure but is meant for younger students. For more information please visit elmacon.org
