Notes

These questions were originally released by Illustrative Mathematics as Common Core Tasks and math curriculum (lessons and practice questions) for grades K–12. They are organized the same way in Problem-Attic.

Illustrative Mathematics is based at the University of Arizona and headed by William McCallum, one of the lead writers of the Common Core State Standards. Described as “a community of educators dedicated to the coherent learning of mathematics”, Illustrative Mathematics has produced an “extensive and carefully vetted collection of instructional and assessment tasks that have been aligned with CCSS.”

For more information and access to source material from Illustrative Mathematics, please see illustrativemathematics.org and im.openupresources.org.

This is the first of two banks which originate with Illustrative Mathematics. The second bank, IM Paired Practice, has original questions written to pair with IM practice questions for middle school and high school.
