About the database

The Problem-Attic database has more than 350,000 questions for all grades and core subjects, and a good number of them are available in both and English and Spanish. To make browsing and selecting easier, the database is separated into “banks”. In most cases, this is done by subject area (math, science, social studies and ELA) and by source (e.g., NY Regents Exams).

As of this writing, there are 80 banks. The database continues to grow, so you should come back here regularly to see what’s new. You can see the titles of the banks on the left. For the question count and other details, simply click a title. For most banks, we‘ve included a link to a sample document. For some banks, there are notes about best use or changes that were necessary for the questions to work in the Problem-Attic database.

How to use the question banks

Most likely you’ll be interested in using just a subset of the banks. For that reason, Problem-Attic gives you two different ways to access them: My Banks (see screenshot below) and Browse all Banks.

• My Banks. This is where you’ll usually go to select questions. At first, the titles that you see are recommendations only. They come from the Setup Wizard, which is run after your initial log-in to Problem-Attic. The set is fully customizable. You can add and remove banks and re-arrange them, similar to what you do with apps on a phone.

• Browse all Banks. Here you can see everything that is available in Problem-Attic. While you can select questions in the normal way, by “drilling down” into the database, you’ll probably want to add any titles that you like to My Banks, so they’re easier to access in the future. Please note that the vast majority of banks are freely available. You can go into them and select whatever questions you like for the document you’re creating in Problem-Attic. This page shows how it’s done. Some banks, namely those which contain EducAide’s original questions, require a school subscription.
